The sixth edition of Rites of Spring Music Festival, which takes place throughout the North Fork, will continue on June 12.
“Rites of Spring Music Festival brings together excellent musicians, young and old, of different races, languages, religions and national origins,” read the organization’s 2021 artistic & executive director’s statement. “The calling of our organization is to offer the world music beauty that transcends difference and division.”
The next in the series will be New Music Under the Big Sky at the Custer Observatory in Southold on June 12 at 7:30 PM. The event aims to take guests on a journey to create an immersive musical evening.
The music program will include musicians Allison Loggins Hull, flute and electronics; Juri Seo, vibraphone; Andrew Rodriguez, flute, percussion, and electronics; Missy Mazzoli, violin and electronics; David Crowell, cello, electric guitar, and electronics; Timo Andres, cello and synthesizer; David Crowell, electric guitar and electronics; and Steve Reich, clarinet and electronics.
The Rites of Spring Ensemble will include Ginevra Petrucci, flute; Gleb Kanasevich, clarinet and electronics; Domenic Salerni, violin; Iva Casian-Lakos, cello; David Crowell, electric guitar; Dan Lippel, electric guitar; Dan Pate, percussions; and Paolo Bartolani, piano/synthesizer.
The July 18 concert will be held at Castello di Borghese Vineyard in Cutchogue at 7:30 PM. Musicians include Tom Manuel, cornet, vocal; Steve Salerno, guitar; Peter Coco, bass; and Chris Smith, drums.
