On Sunday, October 31, Robin Stables hosted its inaugural “Fall Fling,” Dressage Horse Show at Mecox Bay Farms in Bridgehampton, owned by Stacy Ludlow. The event was directed and produced by renowned international Trainer and past member of the British Equestrian Team, Rebecca Robin Wilson.
The dressage tests were judged by nationally acclaimed USDF Level 4 professional rider and Judge, Stephanie Mason, Scribe, Donald Biddulph Jr., and Secretary, Stephanie Warner, of the Long Island Dressage Association.
Four skilled equestrians riding a choreographed, quadrille presentation to music opened the day’s show. Throughout the day, seven riders competed in various professional dressage tests ranging from Introductory to Freestyle. The event culminated in awards with Andressa Costa of Sag Harbor taking home Grand Champion and Chris Ritchey of East Hampton, Reserve Champion.
Ms. Robin-Wilson said, “I produced this event to increase awareness of dressage riding and to offer riders a professional horse show on the East End of Long Island. I want riders to understand what goes into preparing for a horse show, gain real show ring experience, and to improve their skills and confidence. Based on the enthusiasm and interest in this event, I am hoping this is the first of several local dressage shows next year.”
