The Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation hosts Shampooch, its 8th annual dog and car wash and community day, on Saturday, August 15, from 11 AM to 3 PM. This year, the event is part of the shelter’s Summer of Tails campaign, a summer-long series of community fundraisers and events.
“Shampooch has been one of the highlights of our year for the past eight years, and our staff and volunteers love it as much as the community does,” said Beatrix Parash, Director of Operations at SASF. “It’s a wonderful way for the community to see everything SASF does — and for our team to shine.”
Pamper your pooch with a wash or a nail trim, give your car some love and meet some of SASF’s adoptable animals. Food trucks and snacks for you or your pet will be available for purchase. A large basket auction, which includes over 40 prizes and a 50/50 raffle, will also add to the fun. New this year is an “Ask the Dog Trainer” booth, where owners can sit down with a professional trainer and get real answers to everyday questions — leash pulling, house training, and more.
Shampooch has something for the whole family. Also new this year are a series of carnival-style games and face painting by Nick’s Party Rentals, pony rides by Hidden Pond Stables, a bubble-themed photo booth, music by DJ SlayJ, and more than 20 vendors.
