It was a day of sunshine and heartfelt giving at The Retreat’s Annual Golf Outing, held at Noyac Golf Club in Sag Harbor on September 22. All the money raised supports The Retreat’s efforts to help survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.

More than 85 golfers, philanthropists, and supporters came together to honor Ray Harden, co-owner of Ben Krupinski Builder. Leaders and friends from across the building community turned out to celebrate Harden’s civic spirit and generosity, including his long-time business associate, Stratton Schellinger.

Ray Harden has carried on the legacy of the late Ben Krupinski by championing and supporting local nonprofits throughout East Hampton and beyond. His contributions to the community include being an active member and former chief of the 150-volunteer East Hampton Fire Department, for which he is a three-time firefighter of the year.

“There was not a dry eye in the house when Ray shared what motivates him to support The Retreat in our nearly 40-year effort to provide safe haven to those affected by domestic violence,” said Cate Carbonaro, Esq., Executive Director of The Retreat.

Long-time broadcaster Bill McCuddy energized the crowd as auctioneer, driving bids on one-of-a-kind experiences, including a private in-home dinner for 10 with celebrity chef Michael Symon, along with exclusive foursomes at some of the Hamptons’ most coveted golf clubs.

Funds raised from the event support The Retreat’s 24/7 hotline, emergency shelter, legal services, counseling, and prevention education, which reach thousands of families across Long Island every year.
