The Garden Club Of East Hampton’s Garden Party & Plant Sale

The Garden Club of East Hampton kicks off the summer season with its annual Garden Party and Plant Sale at Mulford Farm on Friday, May 27 through Saturday, May 28. Tickets for the Garden Party and Silent Auction start at $50 per person and can be purchased at the door on the evening of the event or in advance at the Club’s website at gceasthampton.org. Admission to the Plant Sale on Saturday, May 28 is free.

Friday night’s Garden Party offers patrons an early buying opportunity on an extraordinary selection of annuals, perennials, herbs, geraniums and lavish orchid arrangements. Garden Club experts will be on hand to consult on the selection of annuals and perennials especially selected for East Hampton’s Zone 7 climate. In addition, attendees will have the chance to bid on an extensive list of Silent Auction items including golf packages from top East End golf clubs, vacation home stays, art, plants in containers, and many other items donated from local retailers.

Hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served. Ticket proceeds benefit the eleven community gardens and projects designed and maintained by the members.

The Garden Club of East Hampton, founded in 1914, aims “to restore, improve and protect the quality of the environment through educational programs and civic improvements.” The GCEH has designed, installed and now maintains: The Mimi Meehan Native Plant Garden, Rachel’s Historic Dooryard Garden at Mulford Farm, the Janice S. Brightwell Heritage Apple Trees at Mulford Farm, the Brick Courtyard Garden at the East Hampton Library, the Mary Nimmo Moran Garden at the Thomas and Mary Nimmo Moran Studio, the Millstone Garden Park on Main Street, the Pollinator Garden at the East Hampton Town Hall, the East Hampton Post Office, the Railroad Station roses and plantings, and the Nature Trail. The GCEH maintains these gardens with the labor of its volunteer members, and in the case of the Nature Trail and Railroad Station, with assistance from the Ladies Village Improvement Society (LVIS).

In partnership with the Town of East Hampton, GCEH manages the Amagansett Orchid Conservation Project and assists with water quality testing of local waterways. Each year, the Garden Club provides scholarships to GCEH Interns from East Hampton High School and partners with the Third House Nature Center for volunteer work at Big Reed Pond.
