On Monday, August 31, the Center at West Park hosted a special one-night-only staged reading of “The Bill Chill” at Guild Hall in East Hampton.
Amy Brenneman, Matthew Broderick, Ayo Edebiri, Spencer Garrett, Brian d’Arcy James, Ilana Levine, Marisa Tomei, J. Smith-Cameron, Josh Hamilton, Dylan Walsh, and Jumaane D. Williams performed Lawrence Kasdan and Barbara Benedek’s Academy-nominated script from 1983, with direction from David Saint. Following the reading, Saint joined the cast for a conversation moderated by CNN’s Dana Bash.
The reading supported CWP’s efforts to prevent the demolition of the historic landmark West Park Presbyterian Church on the corner of 86th Street and Amsterdam Avenue.
Attendees included Kate Walsh, Chris Cuomo, Cristina Cuomo, David Nugent, Bob Feinberg, Maria A. Ruiz Botsacos, Brad Silberling, Jonathan Marc Sherman, Mitchell Schamroth, Celine Rattray, Andrew Jones, Joe DiSalvo, Peggy Becker, Gerry Byrne, and more.
