The Retreat will kick off the summer season with its annual All Against Abuse benefit on Saturday, June 8, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at the Southampton Arts Center in Southampton Village. This year, the organization honors Julie Hatfield, President, and Kenneth Wright, Founding Partner of Wright & Company Construction. Wright & Company has supported The Retreat for almost 30 years.
The Retreat is a safe haven for families in crisis across Suffolk County. The community-based, not-for-profit agency provides comprehensive domestic violence services for children and adults, support for survivors, and violence prevention community education.
The evening will feature live music by the Hoodoo Loungers, signature cocktails, and offerings curated by Art of Eating. Guests will hear from three survivors, each with uniquely different backgrounds and stories, in a short film by Markie Hancock, followed by an in-person appearance with Retreat counselors. An exciting paddle-raise auction will follow with auctioneer Harry Santa-Olalla.
“The All Against Abuse benefit is a joyful and inspiring event; it’s also our largest annual fundraiser,” said Loretta Davis, Executive Director of The Retreat. “Guests will be directly supporting our services and resources for individuals, parents, and children affected by violence and abuse, all of which we offer at no cost.”
There will also be a silent auction featuring excellent house seats to a Broadway show, museum memberships, hotel stays, experiences, and much more. It will go live on Thursday, June 6, and close on Sunday, June 9.
The Retreat’s All Against Abuse benefit supports vital services, including a 24-hour hotline, counseling, legal advocacy, prevention education, and emergency shelter for individuals, parents, and children.
