Tucker Marder Leads Tour Of Folly Tree Arboretum With Southampton Arts Center

The Southampton Arts Center will presents a Tree Tour with Tucker Marder on Friday, June 18, from 11 AM and 3 PM.

Marder will lead a tour of the Folly Tree Arboretum, a dendrological archive of over 250 rare, unusual, and culturally significant trees located on the South Fork of Long Island. Trees in the collection include a sycamore that went to the moon on Apollo 14, a tree with useless fruits, and an oak tree that owns itself.

Folly Tree Arboretum produces projects that explore the ways in which culture, narrative, and imagination form human’s relationship to the natural world as well as supports the work of others who are developing new and creative methods of environmental story telling.

This program is part of the exhibit “EARTH – Artists as Activists,” on view through July 11. Visit www.southamptonartscenter.org.
