The newly opened Vin Sur Vingt in Sag Harbor has a large selection of French wines with over 250 bottles in constant rotation along with 50 different wines by the glass.
With so much wine to choose from, the owners Sebastien Auvet and Rakesh Chandiramani are making a grand effort to educate wine lovers who come to their restaurants with Le French Wine Club.
“The more our customers know about wine, the more they will enjoy the experience,” said Auvet. “And the more they will want to come back again and again.”
Plans are underway for members to have access to wine tastings, which will teach them how to understand the compatibility between wine and food. Wine educators will also be a welcomed addition with seminars. And grand tastings are being planned for the wine trade with management in talks with importers and distributors to bring their portfolios to all their restaurants.
In addition to the Sag Harbor location, all Vin Sur Vingt locations in New York City and Washington, DC, will also participate. Le French Wine Club gets its name from the restaurant group’s Le French Wine Shop on the Upper West Side.
Membership is free and the program starts on August 1.
