Sagaponack House began in the mid-1970s when architect Tod Williams moved three small barns to the property and connected them to make his home. The largest became the main living, dining, and kitchen space. The two smaller barns became a bedroom suite and a studio. In the mid-1980s, a new owner added a bedroom wing, addition, and a pool. The home was again updated with the kitchen, dining, and main entry turned into a double-height space. The smaller barn was moved and became a guest house. The more recent structure now connects the two original barns and the bedroom wing. Three world class architects have been involved in the creation of this extraordinary home. The award winning residence was updated by Christof : Finio Architecture and highlighted in Architectural Digest in January 2017; it was also featured in an article in Introspective Magazine. In addition to the main house, the property currently includes a guest house and pool house. The main house’s interiors feature open living spaces with floor to ceiling brick fireplace, dining room. The kitchen includes a marble island, stainless steel countertops, and high-end stainless appliances. There are large windows and multiple glass doors to the grounds. A soaring two-story great room has wide plank wood floors, wood walls and ceilings, and wood-burning fireplace. Spiral stairs ascend to a loft. The spacious primary suite has a fireplace and opens to a terrace. The primary bath includes a deep soaking tub and shower. Two additional bedrooms share another full bath. The guest house is rustic yet chic, with exposed beams, natural wood, a bedroom, and bath with glass and tiled shower. In the “new cabin” is a flat screen TV lounge and full bath with glass rain shower. Outdoors include a heated gunite pool and spa, barbecue, and patio with picnic table and fire pit. There’s also a vegetable and herb garden. Spend the best part of summer in this amazing home or come for the peaceful wintertime.
