Husband-and-wife duo John and Kelly Piccinnini have announced they will take over operations of the iconic Sag Harbor property, The Corner Bar at 1 Main Street.
The local couple, who also own The Clam Bar and Sett Coffee, both located in Amagansett, say they will introduce a refreshed concept that honors The Corner Bar’s storied past while ushering in a new era, naming it The Corner to maintain the restaurant’s original name.
“The vision preserves The Corner Bar’s beloved, old-school neighborhood charm while updating the design, brand, and menu for more modern sensibility. Guests can expect thoughtfully designed space with an approachable vibe – timeless, local, and familiar,” read a statement.
The Corner will continue to serve fan-favorite classics such as a signature burger and fish and chips, alongside new interpretations of modern comfort food. The existing forest green trim and accents will remain, complemented by new leather banquette seating designed to maximize space while creating a cozy, classic aesthetic.
The iconic mahogany bar will be refurbished and polished, aimed to preserve its place as one of Sag Harbor’s beloved gathering spots. The taps will highlight local favorites like Kidd Squid, Springs Brewery, and Montauk Brewing Company. Diners can expect upgrades throughout the restaurant, including new décor elements such as retro sports pennants and nautical sailing flags, that pay homage to Sag Harbor’s maritime history.
