Comedy Is The Name Of The Game At The WHBPAC This Summer

This summer, the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center is the hotspot for comedy. With a wide range of comedic performances, there will be something for every funny bone.

“We’re becoming known as a premiere destination for comedy,” said WHBPAC Marketing Director Heather Draskin. “For a variety of reasons, comedy works extremely well at our venue and allows us to book top tier names like Paul Reiser and Jeff Garlin, along with rising stars like Matteo Lane, Tim Dillon, and Zarna Garg.”

With an extensive career and numerous accolades, Paul Reiser continues to shine in Hollywood and on stage on July 21 at 8 PM. A veteran in the industry, Reiser is a versatile comedian, actor, writer, author, and musician who has spent the last several years showcasing his talents in various projects. From his standout performance in Hulu’s “Reboot” to his superhero debut in Amazon Prime’s “The Boys” as “The Legend,” Reiser’s career remains in high gear. He stars in Netflix’s mega-hit “Stranger Things” and “The Kominsky Method,” which earned him an Emmy nomination. Reiser even revisited his iconic role in the revival of “Mad About You.” Beyond his acting, he’s a successful author and musician, with his books and musical collaborations earning acclaim.

Zarna Garg

Zarna Garg, who will perform on July 27, is an up-and-coming comedienne with a hit special. According to her bio, she’s also the only Indian mom comedian taking on her mother-in-law. She was recently profiled as one of the gutsiest women in comedy on Apple TV’s new “Gutsy Women” series and featured on “This American Life” with Ira Glass. She is touring the world with her show when she’s not doing 15 shows a week at Comedy Cellar in New York City. She is the winner of Kevin Hart’s Lyft Comics, the winner of the 2021 Ladies of Laughter Award, and has over a million followers across social media platforms. Her debut feature screenplay, “Rearranged,” won the Top Comedy Feature award at the Austin Film Festival in 2019 and was a 2019 Nicholl Fellowships Semi-Finalist. “We are very excited to welcome such an exciting talent like Zarna Garg to our theatre,” said Draskin. Also performing on July 28 is acclaimed Jewish comedian MODI, who has sold out two performances at the theatre.

Matteo Lane

In August, three radically different comedians will take the stage, each one with their own devoted audience and fans. On August 3, Matteo Lane is the hottest social media comic rising the ranks with his hot takes and sarcastic shade on queer dating, social media, romance, and more. A former classically trained Opera singer, Lane is selling out venues across the country and can be seen on “The Late Show” with Stephen Colbert, “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” Adam Devine’s “House Party,” and more.

Jeff Garlin

On August 10, fan-favorite Jeff Garlin brings his affable, everyman brand of comedy to the WHBPAC in what is sure to be a knockout performance. Garlin, of “The Goldbergs” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm” fame, is an Emmy-nominated titan of comedy whose whirlwind of humor and wit has been a hit with audiences for over three decades. And on August 29, comic and podcast host Tim Dillon satirically rants about current events in the style of Howard Stern and Lewis Black with a modern approach. Counting nearly one million followers on social media, Dillon is also the author of “Death by Boomers.”

On September 1, New York-based comedian Jim Breuer has long been a beloved figure in comedy, known for his ability to make people laugh without a specific “point of view.” Making Comedy Central’s “100 Greatest Standups of All Time,” Breuer has evolved from his early days on “Saturday Night Live” and the stoner comedy “Half Baked” to a global touring sensation whose shows are a family affair, often attended multiple times by fans. Now focusing on family life and being proudly F-word-free for over a decade, Breuer’s humor resonates across generations, making his live performances a must-see event that turns first-time viewers into lifelong fans.
