To celebrate their first year of operation and to bring in-person fitness back as we head out of the pandemic, CoreBarreFit, founded by barre fitness legends Elisabeth Halfpapp and Fred DeVito, have announced they will be partnering with Konner Development to form the Fitness Collaborative, a consortium of top fitness professionals, anchored by weekly CoreBarreFit classes taught by Halfpapp and DeVito. Classes will be held at the former home of Exhale on Bridgehampton’s Main Street.
Halfpapp and DeVito have an extensive following of devotees. The duo, who count Kate Hudson, Katie Lee, Mariska Hargitay, Julia Roberts, Cameron Diaz, Ramona Singer, Edie Falco, Tara Lipinski, Embassy Row’s Michael Davies, Christine Evangelista and Seventh Generation’s Jeffrey and Sheila Hollender among their many clients, wowed the exercise world when they started CoreBarreFit during the pandemic, attracting clients from around the world to the daily streaming classes, which will continue — with clients stretching and strengthening from as far away as Argentina, Switzerland, and Aspen.
“We began CoreBarreFit last April as a way to continue our teaching with livestream workouts,” said DeVito. “The classes have been wonderful and have connected us to our students in a way we never thought possible. That said,” he added, “as the Hamptons continue to recover from the Covid-19 pandemic, we are aware that restless residents and summer vacationers are looking into options to augment their livestream at home workouts and return safely to gyms and studios, hence our decision to bring real world fitness back to the to the East End.”
Concurrently, Halfpapp and DeVito recognized that other displaced fitness professionals are looking at options to teach in-person classes this summer, yet alternatives for doing so safely indoors are somewhat limited. The solution, conceived by the duo along with Konner Development, the owner of 2415 Main Street, the former home of Exhale, was to create The Fitness Collaborative, which will offer a means for individual teachers to arrange their own independent fitness instruction.
