‘Curated By’ At Kathryn Markel Fine Arts

Kathryn Markel Fine Arts in Bridgehampton presents a new program of four guest-curated exhibitions titled “Curated By,” taking place on the gallery’s second floor.

Throughout the summer season, four separate curators will mount exhibitions of their choosing in the gallery’s upstairs space. Concurrently, the main gallery will feature a robust series of exhibitions of new works by gallery artists.

The inaugural guest exhibition, which debuted on May 28, is Curated By Scott Bluedorn, and will feature new work by Bluedorn and Alexander Perez. Kathryn Markel Fine Arts will present new works by artists Conny Schmitt and Antony Densham. Both shows are on view through June 21.

“We’ve been in Bridgehampton for over 10 years and it’s so exciting to see the Hamptons become an art world center during the summer months,” said Markel. “We’re thrilled to be able to add to local offerings by giving four separate curators full run of our space upstairs. Their diverse programs will enhance the gallery’s exhibitions of vibrant new works by gallery artists.”

The Curated By series will continue on June 24 through July 12 with Julia Halsey. Kathryn Markel Fine Arts will present new works by Stanley Bielen and Sarah Macculloch Bielen.

From July 16 to August 9, Curated By Miles Manning will include paintings by Victor Pesce Manning. The director of Elizabeth Harris Gallery will present a tender tribute to the works of her late husband Victor. On the main floor, there will be new works by Deborah Zlotsky and Deborah Dancy Zlotsky.

Starting August 16, Curated By Heidi Lee Komaromi will be on display upstairs, while on the ground floor, Curated By Elena Prohaska will feature new works by Hamptons-based artists along with selections from Kathryn Markel’s program. Both shows run through September 6.
