Global Strays, an organization that aims to reduce the suffering of animals in impoverished regions globally, held its fourth annual benefit, Educating the Next Generation of Animal Welfare Advocates, on Friday, August 26, at NAIA Hamptons in Southampton.
The Host Committee was led by Global Strays President and co-founder Elizabeth Shafiroff together with Ingrid Arneberg, Renee Amorosi, Janna Bullock, Eugenia Valliades, Randi Schatz, Jean Shafiroff, Georgina Bloomberg, and Kim Renk.
Attendees included New York State Assembly Member Rebecca Seawright, David Hochberg, Jean Shafiroff, Martin Shafiroff, Ingrid Arneberg, Felicia and Kyle Persaud, Janna Bullock, Eugenia Valliades, Henry Buhl, Kingsley Crawford, Dee Rivera, Patricia Deshong, Orley Pacheco, Richard Ballard, Randi Schatz, Lee Fryd and Liliana Cavendish. There was a live performance by X Factor finalist Stacy Francis.
A personally-curated silent auction included Hodges Bay Resort & Spa in Antigua, Gstaad, Switzerland vacation donated by Janna Bullock, May Lindstrom Skin, Metro Dog Training, Save The Duck, Little Chonk, Bistro Ete Restaurant, Morgan’s Rock and swag bag with pet products from Zippy Paws, Kradle CBD and Farm Hounds. Liquor sponsors were Hampton Water, Casa Del Sol, and Tito’s Handmade Vodka.
The organization funds animal shelters and brings services into communities to improve the well-being of pets, strays, and working animals. Presently, Global Strays is at the forefront of animal welfare education with their entirely unique, youth educational curriculum centered on The Five Freedoms of Animal Welfare.
Having witnessed the overpopulation and mistreatment of suffering animals while traveling abroad as well as while rescuing at-risk pit-bulls in her hometown of New York City, Liz Shafiroff was inspired to start Global Strays.
