Global Walk To Flatten The Cancer Curve; Launch With HUGO BOSS Fashions

Over 60 percent of Americans diagnosed with cancer are aged 65 and older, and advanced age is the most significant risk factor.

The Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation works to fund scientists, in collaboration with the National Cancer Institute and National Institute on Aging, to reduce the risk of cancer as we age.

Staying active is key. That’s why SWCRF and Walk with a Doc, a global non-profit that inspires people to stay active and healthy, are collaborating on the inaugural Global Walk to Flatten the Cancer Curve.

The race is virtual and at-your-own-pace, and aims to raise international awareness, as well as funds, for cancer research. From June 30 to July 10 the goal is to accumulate 25,000 miles, which is enough steps to walk around the planet.

Supporters are asked to join and calculate steps by walking, cycling, running, swimming, or even cleaning the house, while friends and family are encouraged to join and donate.

HUGO BOSS Fashions Inc is teaming up with SWCRF for a special in-store party to announce the launch of walk. As a lead event sponsor, HUGO BOSS will be donating 15 percent of store sales during this event to the foundation. The event takes place at the BOSS Store at 568 Broadway in Soho on Wednesday, June 16, from 6 to 9 PM.

The completion of the trek around the world will be celebrated at the 17th annual Hamptons Happening fundraiser on July 10 in Bridgehampton — which will honor Chef David Burke, HUGO BOSS Fashions, Dr. Kenneth Mark, and Natalie Cohen Gould.

Registration to the walk starts at $50. Those who raise over $500 will receive a ticket to the Hamptons Happening.
