Hampton Ballet Theatre School Returns to Guild Hall to Perform the Spring Ballet Coppelia

The Hampton Ballet Theatre School presents the spring production of the ballet “Coppelia” on Friday, May 2, at 7 PM, Saturday, May 3, at 7 PM, and Sunday, May 4, at 12 PM and 5 PM at the Hilarie and Morgan Mitchell Theater in Guild Hall in East Hampton.

The lively score is by Leo Delibes, and the ballet is choreographed by the director of HBTS, Sara Jo Strickland. It includes beautiful costumes designed and hand-sewn by Yuka Silvera, Sara Jo Strickland, and Kate McManus, and lighting designed by Sebastian Paczynski. HBTS professional level 9 student Avery McCleland will be dancing the lead roles of Swanhilda. Additional guest artists include Nick Peregrino and Jacob Taylor.

“Coppelia” is a comedic delight. The courtship of Swanhilda and Franz, and the doll, Coppelia, who Franz mistakenly courts, along with Dr. Coppelius’ bumbling antics, will entertain all ages.
