Artist Reception & Book Signing At The Milk Pail in Water Mill

10 Boat Yard Road, East Hampton
Organized by Alex Ferrone

As spring arrives, renowned water colorist Quincy Egginton is displaying a range of her work at the Milk Pail Fresh Market through June. Local landscapes and still lifes of local produce grace the walls. All work is available for purchase. “I’m delighted to show my work at the Milk Pail,” says Egginton. “It’s an institution in this community.”

The family-owned and operated the Milk Pail Fresh Market —your “old school apple store”—in Water Mill has now been in business for 55 years!

Join the artist and friends for an opening reception 2-5pm on Saturday, April 13, featuring the Milk Pail’s famous apple cider and cider donuts.

“We love having Quincy visit—she’s a regular customer,” says 12th generation farmer Amy Halsey, proprietor of the Market with her sister Jennifer Halsey-Dupree. “Events like this give us a chance to get all caught up with our neighbors,” Halsey continues. “Our food truck is here every day—Chef Jose Guzman’s Green Gold Kitchen—so it’s always a foodie party!”

Egginton will be joined by her friend, author Stacy Dermont, from 4-5pm. Dermont is co-author, with Bridgehampton’s Hillary Davis, of the best-selling cookbook and wine-pairing guide, The Hamptons Kitchen. Now in its second printing, The Hamptons Kitchen features a foreward by the late, great Gael Greene and gorgeous photographs by Barbara Lassen.

Located at 1346 Montauk Highway in Water Mill, the Milk Pail Fresh Market offers a host of gifts in addition to their famous apples, including handmade yarns; ceramics; greeting cards; artisanal candies, jams, candles, and soaps; potted flower plants; tote bags; and Wölffer Estate Vineyard wines. Plus, hand-carved wooden bowls, pepper mills, and pens made on the nearby farm by the sisters’ dad, John Halsey.

The Hamptons Kitchen is also available from area bookstores and from all major online booksellers in both print and digital formats.
