Full Blue Moon Hike And Serene Serenade
Friends of the Long Pond Greenbelt
Join Friends of the Long Pond Greenbelt and South Fork Natural History Museum (SOFO) on a leisurely-paced hike through open-field trails. Whenever two full Moons appear in a single month, the second is christened a “Blue Moon.” Due to our calendar days, the appearance of a Blue Moon is actually a relatively rare occurrence as one rises on average only once every 2 1/2 to 3 years. FLPG Board Member Doreen Johnston will serenade us with tranquil gong sounds after the hike. Allow your body to hear the full moon vibrations translated through a beautiful hand-crafted gong as you sip cider and relax into the sound. Meet at the SOFO Museum parking lot, 377 Bridgehampton Turnpike 200 yards north of the RR tracks. Leader: Jean Mc Dermott, 631-599-2391.
