The First Responders Children’s Foundation, a national organization dedicated to serving the children of U.S. first responders, including firefighters, police officers, paramedics, EMTs, corrections officers, and 911 dispatchers, hosted its inaugural Golf Classic Fundraiser at Sebonack Golf Club in Southampton.
It was an event aimed at honoring the men and women who serve on the front lines of emergency response and commemorating the sacrifices made during 9/11.
NFL players Victor Cruz, Ahmad Rashad, Jermaine Kearse, Brice Butler, Eric Ebron, and Andre Roberts; MLB players Dave Valle, Tino Martinez, and John Franco; LPGA players Marina Alex, Megan Greha, Alison Walshe, and Marie Hanson; NHL players Darren Pang, Matt Martin, Joc Kocur, Kevin Shattenkirk, Josh Baily, and Jake Allen; PGA John Mallinger, Will Mackenzie, Steve Marino, and James Driscoll attended.
First responder leaders from the New York State Police, Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department, NYPD, FDNY, and Southampton Town and Fire Departments also attended.
The funds raised during this event provide educational scholarships, mental health counseling, and financial support to children of fallen and disabled first responders.
