Jazz For The Center, a night of jazz music, was performed by Evan Sherman, Cyrus Chestnut, and Dezron Douglas in the garden at Guild Hall, to benefit the Bridgehampton Child Care & Recreational Center.
There were many friends of The Center who came to remember the years of Jazz @ Jennings and Jazz for Jennings, an annual summer benefit hosted by Kayce and Peter Jennings.
“The Center was honored to be part of Guild Hall’s Summer Concert Series for their 90th anniversary. We were so happy that The Center’s legacy of Jazz could continue. For many years we survived by the support of Jazz @ Jennings and Jazz for Jennings. Covid put a halt to all our 2020 fundraisers. This was a home run for both historic East End organizations. We are grateful to all who came and supported the work we do for our families,” said Executive Director Bonnie Michelle Cannon.
“I am once again tremendously moved by the generosity of the jazz community and endlessly grateful to the musicians for caring about The Center and the community it serves. They have stepped up whenever we’ve called. Peter, too, would have been grateful . . . and his spirit was very much with us,” said Kayce Freed Jennings.
The Bridgehampton Child Care & Recreational Center’s educational programs enhance exposure to the arts for children, while its Thinking Forward Lecture Series benefits the entire community.
