On Thursday, August 12, the East Hampton Historical Society invited landscape architect Perry Guillot to be a guest speaker at its annual Summer Lecture Luncheon, held at the Maidstone Club. Over 250 guests joined for Guillot’s presentation of some of his most remarkable projects, moderated by designer David Netto.

Now in its fifth year, the Summer Lecture Luncheon has brought together some of the best designers and architects from around the country. Guillot and Netto, both experts on the intersection of design and cultural heritage, delivered an afternoon of reflective thought on landscape architecture and its role in impacting our relationship with the natural world, how landscapes connect us to our collective past and through thoughtful design, offer a window into the future.

Bonnie Brennan, President of Christie’s Americas, a Platinum Sponsor of the event, closed out the program by saying, “It is an honor for Christie’s to support an organization dedicated to both the preservation and re-interpretation of East Hampton’s rich history of art, architecture and horticulture.”

Guests included Charlotte Moss, Tom Samet and Nathan Wold, Debbie Druker (EHHS Event Chair), Michael Clifford (President of the Board of Trustees, EHHS), Dale Ellen Leff, Frank Newbold, Jane DeFlorio, Dorian and Gil Meister, Barbara Ostrom, Kelli Delaney, Samantha Frapping Brown, Anne Chaisson, Jennifer Levene Bruno, and Dorian and Gary Fuhrman.
