The Keyes Art Gallery in Sag Harbor presents “Making References,” an exhibition of paintings by Fay Lansner, Walter Bobbie, and Adrianne Lobel. Organized by George Negroponte, the exhibition is dedicated to the artist as the inventor of form and light.
Femininity permeates many of the pieces in Lansner’s extensive body of work. Her work often includes meandering lines that defy conventions by framing idealized images of emboldened and liberated women. Bobbie and Lobel both have long associations with theater. Lobel is known for her striking colors while Bobbie’s works evoke surrealism. The work of all three artists reflects their inner strength, visions, and tough-minded decisions that invite the viewer to pay close attention and observe.
The exhibition will run from August 13 to September 6 and an opening reception will be held on Saturday, August 13, from 6 to 8 PM.
