This year marked the 14th anniversary of Wölffer Vineyards’s Lighting of The Vines cocktail party and ceremony at the 55-acre vineyard in Sagaponack. Wölffer began hosting this philanthropic jubilation in 2009.

All proceeds from the event support the Bridgehampton Child Care & Recreational Center, whose mission is to help underserved children and families on the East End. The evening was filled with caroling, music, song, and lots of good cheer. Another highlight was the silent auction of 20 wreaths designed by local artists, designers, and business owners.

“Lighting of the Vines has evolved significantly over the years, becoming a source of immense pride for me. It’s a special occasion not only to commemorate this past year but also to express gratitude to our community and those dedicated individuals who tirelessly contribute to its betterment. Having an organization like The Center at the core of this event holds such significance. Their unwavering efforts in improving our community rightfully places them in the spotlight of the evening!” said Joey Wolffer.

There were passed hors d’oeuvres, live music, wine, and Wölffer’s signature gigantic ornaments on display across the ceiling of the tasting room. The culmination of the event was the countdown to the lighting of 15,000 bulbs across the vines.

“The Center is so blessed to be the beneficiary of Lighting of the Vines. Well over $100,000 was raised for our children and families. This is a gift of hope, opportunity and brighter futures! God Bless Joey and the Wölffer family for caring so passionately and giving so generously!” said Bonnie Michelle Cannon, executive director of BHCCRC.
