LongHouse Reserve presents its Annual Summer Benefit “Onward” with a celebration of artists – past, present, and future. Guests are invited to wander the garden admiring sculptures and plant life and enjoy music, drinks, and food.
Artist honorees Steven and William Ladd, Cheng Tsung Feng, Moko Fukuyama, Fitzhugh Karol, and Bjorn Amelan will present their new works at the benefit. The Ladds will present “Right Here, Right Now” and discuss how their sculptural work speaks to their practice in love and kindness. Feng, visiting from Taiwan, will present “Fish Trap VI,” a portal dedicated to local heritage. Fukuyama will present her “Hell Gate Keepers.” Karol will present “Friendship,” his series of totems honoring the spirit of trees. Finally, Amelan will present his sumi ink paintings.
The event features specialty cocktails, music by Cherry Bombs, Joy Jan Jones, and more musical artists, and an auction of work from artists across the East End and abroad.
Tickets start at $500 and can be purchased at longhouse.org. All proceeds go toward the organization’s diverse educational outreach, community programming, and upkeep of the grounds.
