Tango is coming to Montauk this weekend in the shape of a festival. Montauk Tango Festival will include tango teachers and musicians, and guests will have the opportunity to dance the night away.
An opening night reception and Milonga will be held at South Edison from 6 PM to midnight on Friday, March 31. The event will include a pre-Milonga Class with Guillermina Quiroga and Mariano Logiudice Milonga.
Saturday’s Grand Milonga will be held at Sel Rrose from 7 PM to midnight on Saturday, April 1. There will be three sets of live music by Latin Grammy award winner Pedro Giraudo Tango Quartet and performances by Guillermina Quiroga and Mariano Logiudice, Carlos and Maureen Urrego, and Guillermo Melo and Renee Rouger.
On Sunday, April 2, the closing Milonga will be held from 2 to 6 PM at 668 Gig Shack with Maestros Ronda de Cierre and DJ Guillermo Merlo.
The festival will include a variety of workshops and throughout the weekend attendees can enjoy food and drinks at area restaurants when not “tangoing.” There will also be nature hikes, horse rides, fishing, surfing, and and walk and dance on the beach.
