Nikki’s Not Dog Stand recently opened in the heart of Sag Harbor Village. The eatery serves hot dogs and burgers in a space that offers a nostalgic throwback to the 1950s diner, with mustard-colored swivel stools, red and white checkered floors, and baseball memorabilia lining the walls. The only difference is that it’s a fully plant-based menu.
The menu was developed alongside Katsuji Tanabe, a chef known for appearing on Bravo’s “Top Chef.” It features dogs and burgers from Field Roast topped with creative ingredients to make each dish stand out.
On the burger menu, you’ll find a California burger with caramelized onions, mustard, iceberg lettuce, pickles, mayo relish sauce, and tomato. Or try the New Mexico burger with green chile sauce, iceberg lettuce, onions, and tomato.
The sides really shine, like the white sweet potato fries and Nikki’s potato salad. The chili is also a must-try, whether on its own or on the Detriot Dog, served with chili, raw onions, and cheddar cheese. On the dog menu, also try the New York Dog with sauerkraut, spicy brown mustard, tomato onion sauce, or the Texas Dog with salsa, Monterey jack, and sliced jalapeños.
Don’t leave without ordering an oat-based shake. Choose between a malted shake, an espresso shake, or the Darryl Strawberry shake.
Nikki’s Not Dog Stand also offers a special after-school promo, “The Kids Lunch Box,” which includes “The Kid” Dog, small fries, and a Poppi or Olipop soda for $15. Delivery is available, and orders can be placed by visiting nikkisnotdogstand.com.
