Organización Latino Americana (OLA) of Eastern Long Island will host its signature annual fundraiser, Sabor 2026, on Thursday, July 16, from 5 to 8 PM at The Church in Sag Harbor. The elegant cocktail fundraiser celebrates OLA’s 24th year of service and supports the organization’s mission of building a safer, healthier, and more equitable East End for Latinos and all community members.
This year’s event will be chaired by former New York State Assemblyman and current OLA Board Member Fred Thiele, whose longstanding commitment to public service and the East End community reflects the values at the heart of OLA’s work.
Guests will enjoy an evening featuring award-winning tequila from Montaukila, culinary offerings by Janet O’Brien Caterers + Events, wines from Wölffer Estate Vineyard, beverages from Peconic Beverage, and live music by Latin Moon, whose vibrant blend of Latin rhythms and jazz has become a Sabor favorite. The event will also feature an exclusive silent auction curated by acclaimed artist and curator Yubal Márquez Fleites.
“Sabor is much more than a celebration,” said Minerva Perez, Executive Director of OLA. “It is one of the most important ways our community comes together to invest in the future of the East End. Every ticket purchased, every sponsorship secured, and every auction bid placed helps ensure that OLA can continue providing critical programs and advocacy for the families who rely on us.”
Perez continued, “The need for OLA’s work has never been greater. From supporting immigrant families and expanding educational opportunities to developing community leaders and advocating for policies that strengthen the East End, our programs depend on the generosity of neighbors, businesses, and community partners. Sabor is an opportunity for everyone who believes in a stronger, more inclusive East End to stand with us and help sustain that work.”
For 24 years, OLA of Eastern Long Island has worked to build a safer, healthier, and more equitable East End through advocacy, leadership development, education, cultural programming, and community engagement. Funds raised through Sabor directly support OLA’s year-round work, including family support services, youth and leadership development initiatives, civic engagement programs, educational advocacy, and efforts to strengthen connections across the region’s diverse communities.
