Parrish Art Museum Presents 37th Annual Landscape Pleasures

On September 11 and 12, the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill will host its 37th annual Landscape Pleasures horticultural event, a benefit for the museum.

The weekend includes self-guided tours on Saturday from 10 AM to 3 PM of four extraordinary gardens on the North Fork, including The Landcraft Garden Foundation, Winds Way Farm, the garden of Conni Cross, and the garden of Ugo Rondinone.

A symposium will take place on Sunday from 9 AM to 12:30 PM with award-winning horticulturist Patrick Cullina and renowned landscape designer Deborah Nevins.

Cullina is a horticulturist, landscape designer, photographer, lecturer, and organizational consultant with more than 25 years of experience in landscape design. He is dedicated to the innovative and sensitive integration of plants and materials into a diverse range of compelling designs, drawing inspiration from the both the natural world and constructed environments.

Nevins creates landscapes that extend beyond simply beautiful. Her firm realized projects around the world, including The Stavros Niarchos Cultural Center in Athens, in collaboration with The Renzo Piano Building Workshop, as well as private estates. Nevins works with fragile natural environments using indigenous plant communities that are in harmony with the local ecology, particularly with wetlands and protected areas in Long Island, New England, and the West.

Landscape Pleasures ticket purchasers at the sponsor level and above will be invited for cocktails at Fairwind, the Southampton Village garden of Audrey and Martin Gruss on Saturday from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. The auspicious property features specimen trees, charming outbuildings, a cutting garden, an orchard, and a succession of garden rooms. An excellent collection of outdoor contemporary sculpture adds a lively modern touch to this well-established garden.

Tickets to join the benefit committee and sponsor level for Landscape Pleasures begin at $400. Garden tours and symposium tickets are $200 for museum members and $250 for non-members.
