Project MOST and East End Lacrosse Club have partnered for the second annual Golf Outing at Gardiner’s Bay Country Club on September 28.
Project MOST is a non-profit that supports enrichment for kids on the East End through after school care, summer camp, and weekend programming. The organization was established in the early 2000s and has a close relationship with The East Hampton Neighborhood House, which is one of the oldest non-profits in East Hampton. Project MOST began using The East Hampton Neighborhood House site during the pandemic, as a place to safely gather kids and provide enrichment during a challenging time. This site became the Project MOST Community Learning Center.
The lacrosse program started at the Project MOST Community Learning Center in 2021 as a “pick-up” lacrosse program open to ages 5 to 8. Ricky and Meredith Smith had just resettled their family here, and as former college lacrosse players at UVA with young boys, wanted to share the sport they love with their new community. The lacrosse program has grown since those “pick-up” lacrosse games with kids now traveling from Montauk, Sag Harbor, and Wainscott to play on the boys and girls teams.
Funds raised at the golf outing will expand programming for both organizations and create new opportunities for kids on the East End.
