Southampton Arts Center presents its sixth annual summer kick-off party, “Whimsy: Latin Jazz Dance Party,” on Saturday, June 27, from 6 to 8 PM. This fundraising initiative welcomes Southampton’s residents, artists, and all community members to indulge in delicious fare from Robbins Wolfe, cocktails, live entertainment, and dancing with Maria Raquel Quintet. Proceeds from the event will support SAC’s year-round programming and commitment to offering accessible, inclusive arts experiences to the East End community.
Lana Jokel will be honored with the inaugural Community Leader Award in recognition of her generosity to the Southampton Arts Center, as well as other local institutions. Two years ago, she also funded the renovation of Southampton Arts Center’s interior ceilings.
“We are thrilled to bring back our Whimsy Cocktail Dance party once again. This year, our Latin Jazz theme will add a special spice to the mix and help us launch our 14th Summer Season with great fun and community spirit,” said Christina M. Strassfield, Executive Director of SAC.
The Studio by Hill Street’s instructors, Val and Neda, will take the floor for a live exhibition dance, a celebration of movement set to the evening’s Latin-jazz theme.
