Since 2007, the North Fork Foodie Tour has provided a unique opportunity to explore the key features that make the region so appealing: its farms, vineyards, and other food and beverage producers. The event will be held on Sunday, September 8, from 10 AM to 4 PM.
Ticket holders can chart their course for a day exploring the bounty of the North Fork, choosing among behind-the-scenes tours of 20 locations from Calverton to Greenport, and meeting the people who have dedicated their lives to the art of producing first-class food and wine. Visitors will learn about farming, sustainable agriculture, and production methods used to create the area’s best food, wines, beers, spirits, and artisanal products.
New this year are Farrm Wine in Calverton, a certified organic farm producing biodynamic wines; Oregon Road Organics in Cutchogue, offering vegetables and flowers; Breeze Hill Farm in Peconic with orchards and row crops; Sweet Woodland Farm in Southold with medicinal and culinary herbs; and Old Field Vineyards in Southold, a family-operated winery practicing sustainable viniculture.
Experts in their respective fields will give talks and demonstrations at the Peconic Land Trust Agricultural Center at Charnews Farm in Southold.
