The Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons (ARF Hamptons) will host its Bow Wow Meow Ball @ Home to celebrate ARF’s life-saving work and honor Kathleen and Charlie Marder with the Champion of Animals Award. Because the ARF campus is under construction, the public is invited to attend the celebration virtually and watch wherever they might be or host a private viewing party.
ARF has provided care and sanctuary for homeless cats and dogs until they find their forever families since 1974. In addition to its rescue and adoption programs, ARF operates a pet food pantry, free vaccine clinics, and free spay/neuter clinics for feral cats.
The event features a 15-minute video about Wink and Buddy, two local animals who found their forever families with the help of ARF. There will also be a look at progress on “Forever Home,” the project to renovate, re-build, and expand ARF’s campus, along with the Parade of Animals, filmed on location in East Hampton Village and presented by Lexus of Southampton and Mercedes Benz of Southampton.
Honorees Kathleen and Charlie Marder started their landscaping company in 1975 and have been supporting ARF’s work in the community for 30 years through adoption events, garden tours, Thrift Shop donations, silent auctions, and landscaping.
The event will take place on Saturday, August 6, at bowwowmeowball.org. All proceeds from the event will benefit ARF and its rescued animals.
