The Arts Center At Duck Creek’s Exquisite Corpse DRAWaTHON Benefit

The Arts Center at Duck Creek invites guests to celebrate collaboration and community at its second annual DRAWaTHON fundraiser.

2024 is the 100th Anniversary of Surrealism, and in honor of the occasion, Duck Creek has invited artists from near and far to create Exquisite Corpse drawings for its benefit exhibition and sale. The Exquisite Corpse is a game popularized by surrealists like Max Ernst and Andre Breton in the 1930s, in which each artist executes one section of a drawing without seeing their fellow collaborator’s contributions. Over 100 artists from near and far have already begun working on their Corpse drawings.

The ticketed event will honor former East Hampton Town Supervisor Peter Van Scoyoc. The exhibit preview will be held on Friday, August 23, from 5 to 7:30 PM. Benefit exhibit hours are Saturday, August 24 to Sunday, August 25, from 2 to 6 PM.

Tickets cost $150 and include early access to the affordable exhibition of collaborative drawings made by Duck Creek alumni and local artists. The event will include light fare from Harbor Market, live music by Iris Ornig, and libations from Stonecrop Wines and Springs Brewery. Funds from ticket and artwork sales will support Duck Creek’s free programming in the coming year. Visit duckcreekarts.org.
