The Bridgehampton Museum continues its Distinguished Lecturer Series with Donnamarie Barnes and David Rattray on Thursday, May 5.
Barnes and Rattray are co-directors of the Plain Sight Project, a historical and educational endeavor to map out the history of slavery on Long Island. Starting at 6 PM, there will be a Q&A, book signing, and a wine and cheese soiree will follow each 40-minute talk.
Starting with the East End of Long Island in the mid-17th century, the Plain Sight Project seeks to restore the stories of the enslaved and free people of color to their essential place in American history.
Barnes is the Director of History & Heritage at Sylvester Manor. Rattray is the owner and editor of The East Hampton Star.
