The East Hampton Historical Society’s History Festival

The East Hampton Historical Society will host a History Festival on the grounds of Historic Mulford Farm on Saturday, October 1, from 10 AM to 2 PM. Offered free-of-charge to the community, the History Festival is part of the Historical Society’s year-long Centennial Celebration.

“When I started at the Historical Society last winter, several young parents asked if we could bring back the History Festivals at Mulford Farm that they remembered so vividly from their childhood,” said Steve Long, the Historical Society’s Executive Director. “I’m thrilled we can fulfill their request.” Barbara Borsack, Chair of the History Festival Committee, said, “The historic Mulford Farm family events that highlight our rich local history have always been among my favorite projects. This will be a great opportunity for community members of all ages to learn what makes East Hampton the wonderful place it is. I hope to see lots of friends and neighbors there!”

Just like the History Festivals from decades ago, this year’s Centennial edition will present Revolutionary War reenactors, historical demonstrations, games, music, crafts, exhibits, and costumed interpreters. All the fun takes place on the grounds of Historic Mulford Farm located at 10 James Lane in East Hampton.

The Historical Society is partnering with representatives of over a dozen local history and community organizations including the Amagansett Life Saving Station Museum, the East End Classic Boat Society, the East Hampton Garden Club, the East Hampton Historical Farm Museum, the East Hampton Library, East Hampton Trails Preservation Society, East Hampton Village Historic Services, the Ladies Village Improvement Society, the Montauk Historical Society, the Montaukett Nation, the Plain Sight Project, the Shinnecock Nation, the Springs Historical Society, and the Wainscott Heritage Project.
