East End Seaport Museum & Marine Foundation will host its annual Maritime Festival from October 21-22 (postponed from the original dates of September 23 to 24) in partnership with the Village of Greenport.
Visitors can view classic boat displays and enjoy kayak races, music, maritime demonstrations, children’s activities, and shop about 100 vendors. The festival benefits educational programs, the preservation of Long Beach Bar (Bug) Light, and museum offerings.
The festive Merfolk parade will be held on Saturday at 11 AM. followed by the costume awards ceremony at noon.
Claudio’s Tavern and Grill and Claudio’s Waterfront will all host events to honor the Maritime Festival. Claudio’s Tavern and Grill will have a pop-up kitchen featuring baked clams, lobster rolls, clam chowder and baked goods. The Waterfront Wharf will feature face painting, arts and crafts, a petting zoo and magic show which will take place at 11 AM, 1 PM, 3 PM, and 4 PM on Sunday. A stein competition will take place Saturday and Sunday at 1 PM and 3 PM at Claudio’s Waterfront. There will be live music property wide.
