The Watermill Center Celebrates The Untamed Spirit Of Play At SCRIBBLE, Honoring Isabella Rossellini & Francis Kéré

The Watermill Center, an interdisciplinary laboratory for the arts and humanities located in Water Mill, will host SCRIBBLE, the 2025 Watermill Summer Benefit, on Friday, July 25, and Saturday, July 26. Presented by Van Cleef & Arpels, SCRIBBLE will welcome over 600 guests to experience the primal creative impulse expressed through interdisciplinary performances, art installations, live music, dancing, and food. The Benefit will also honor the internationally renowned actress and conservationist Isabella Rossellini and visionary architect Francis Kéré, in recognition of their transformative contributions to global culture.

Set amidst the 10-acre grounds of The Watermill Center, SCRIBBLE will open on Friday, July 25, with an Artist Dinner offering an intimate gathering among artists-in-residence, benefactors, and cultural figures. On Saturday, July 26, the benefit expands into a full-evening Festival beginning at 6 PM, featuring live performances and installations, cocktails and a grazing dinner, followed by a late-night After Party featuring a special musical performance by the classically trained cellist and multidisciplinary artist Kelsey Lu, along with a DJ set, dancing, and dessert. Culinary direction will be led by Chef Jeremiah Stone, co-founder of Contra and Wildair.

Elise Herget, The Watermill Center’s Managing Director, says, “SCRIBBLE invites us to embrace the raw, immediate gesture — the mark made without hesitation, the creative impulse in its purest form. In honoring Isabella Rossellini and Francis Kéré, we celebrate two visionary figures whose work embraces fearless imagination expressed across disciplines and cultures. This event will be a joyful affirmation of The Watermill Center’s mission to nurture creative freedom and support boundary-defying artists.”
