On Giving Tuesday, December 3, Kenneth Cole and The Mental Health Coalition coordinated a citywide mental health initiative to change the culture around mental wellness at work for the second annual Wellbeing at Work Day.

Emmy Award Winning Artist Rachel Platten performed during the event with ABC Correspondent Will Reeve as the emcee. In addition, author Hakeem Rahim, Former Commissioner of the NYC Department of Health Dr. Ashwin Vasan, and a panel of industry members moderated by Dr. Kathy Pike of One Mind at Work spoke to the crowd about championing mental health initiatives in the workplace.

In addressing the crowd, Will Reeve said, “We’re all gathered here together to discuss the importance of wellbeing at work, which gives me great hope for the wellbeing of the future of society.” Further speaking to the importance of coming together and sharing our stories surrounding mental health, Rachel Platten told the crowd during her performance, “Mental health is so important to me. I realize the most powerful thing I can do is share my story so that others feel safe to do the same. I’m incredibly thankful to Kenneth Cole and The Mental Health Coalition for the opportunity today to share and be vulnerable.”

The Mental Health Coalition invited corporations from various sectors to connect, network, and learn how to continue advancing, supporting, and sharing mental health best practices in the workplace. Corporate leaders joined Kenneth Cole, his namesake brand, and advocates across the mental health industry in a commitment to creating a supportive workplace for mental health and improving the well-being of their associates.

“What makes Wellbeing at Work so meaningful is that the workplace is the only place where traditional, operational resources – human, administrative, and financial – can be efficiently leveraged to transform the health and wellbeing of people and their families,” said Kenneth Cole, speaking to the importance of raising awareness of and celebrating Wellbeing at Work.

In addition to the event celebrating well-being and Giving Tuesday, Kenneth Cole also launched its newest collaboration with Sesame Workshop, the global impact nonprofit organization behind Sesame Street that supports the mental health and emotional well-being of young children and families today. The unisex capsule collection for both kids and adults captures the essence of beloved Sesame Street characters, promoting care for mental well-being for yourself and others. Each design carries a thoughtful message about mental health, encouraging openness and honesty about our emotions. The hoodies and t-shirts showcase iconic graphics, uplifting phrases, and playful imagery, including messages like “Sometimes It’s OK to Feel Blue,” “You Can Count on Me,” and “Trash the Talk.” The collection is now shoppable on KennethCole.com.
