In a unique partnership LongHouse Reserve will host a series of classical music performances with Young Concert Artists (YCA) bringing superb soloists to East Hampton. The first concerts are planned for Thursday evenings; August 24 and 31, September 7 and 14.
“Join us under the stars in our Edward Albee Amphitheater on cushions covered with Jack Lenor Larsen fabrics. Our evening together welcomes our community to enjoy evening living with art in all forms, our mantra at LongHouse,” said Director Carrie Rebora Barratt. “Our Amphitheater, surrounded by Ai Wei Wei’s Zodiac Heads inspires all to find ourselves in peace and harmony, to listen to beautiful music together.”
YCA President Daniel Kellogg shared, “Young Concert Artists is delighted to partner with Longhouse to present a captivating series of performances set against the backdrop of their stunning gardens. Our emerging artists possess extraordinary musical talents and are poised to ascend as future stars in classical music. Witnessing their initial steps on this journey is a delight for audiences. It is a pleasure to extend a warm invitation to our Hampton friends to hear these young musicians amidst the golden days of late summer for these outdoor dusk concerts.
Acclaimed accordionist Hanzhi Wang will amaze you with her virtuosity and evocative performances, breathing new life into classical masterpieces with the rarely-heard classical accordion. Her live performance is a revelation, showcasing the accordion’s agility and power in ways you wouldn’t expect.
Anthony Trionfo is a remarkable flutist known for his charismatic presence, fiery interpretations, and lyrical tenderness. He’ll be joined by YCA alumna and Board member, harpist Karen Lindquist, in a magical combination of flute and harp – a perfect pairing for a summer evening concert.
Lun Li and Risa Hokamura stand as paragons among the finest young violinists of their generation. Risa’s artistry embraces music with an unwavering intensity, infusing her performances with raw power, evocative drama, and a remarkable breadth of expression. In contrast, Lun’s virtuosity and meticulous finesse harmonize to conjure an exquisite tapestry of sound, where the essence of music intertwines seamlessly with the essence of nature. Their collaboration promises a wonderful evening of duets and solos.
