Zibby Owens is the host of the award-winning podcast “Moms Don’t Have Time to Read Books.” She’s also a mother of four. During the COVID-19 pandemic she launched an online magazine called We Found Time, with the aim of creating something to help people carry on during difficult times.
Authors who had been guests on her podcast wrote original essays for busy readers. Compiled in her new anthology “Moms Don’t Have Time To,” Owens has organized these profound pieces into categories of things that moms don’t have time to do: eat, work out, read, breathe, and have sex.
Among the bestselling authors and contributors are Actress Evangeline Lilly, with a piece on the importance and impact of film. Rene Denfeld, the bestselling author of “The Butterfly Girl” and “The Child Finder” writes about her relationship with food after growing up homeless. Authors Lea Carpenter and Suzanne Falter focus on loss, while Gretchen Rubin and Chris Bohjalian write about the importance of reading.
Each author speaks to the ever-increasing demands on mother’s and their time, especially during the quarantine.
BookHampton will host a virtual book launch on Tuesday, February 16, at 7 PM. The launch will also serve as a fundraiser for Mount Sinai Health System. Visit www.bookhampton.com to register.
