Southampton Arts Center will celebrate its public art project, “WHIMSY,” with a closing reception on Friday, November 5, at 6 PM. This will be the last chance to experience the works in this show curated by Eric Fischl.
The show features works from artists including Alice Aycock, Louise Bourgeois, Hans van de Bovenkamp, Mel Kendrick, Larry Rivers, David Salle, Almond Zigmund, and more.
Among these dynamic works is Rivers’ infamous 16-foot-tall pop art sculpture, “Legs,” which has long attracted both admiration and controversy. Aycock’s 10,000+ pound “Cyclone,” Bourgeois’ “Eyes,” and Salle’s “Elko Park,” which has not been seen in 30 years, will be on display.
Complimentary beverages will be served. Registration is required. Visit southamptonartscenter.org/live.
