The East Hampton Library’s Long Island Collection presents the next event in its new series of drop-in, pop-up exhibits. “A Sneak Peek Inside the Long Island Collection: Whaling” will launch Thursday, September 19, from 4 to 7 PM. Due to popular demand, the exhibit will be on view through Saturday, September 21.
Featured in the exhibit will be whaling logs, correspondence, images, and other materials that document the local history of whaling and its reach across the globe. These materials also highlight the experiences of Sag Harbor and East Hampton whalers, who recorded their travels and created art and music while at sea.
