Bay Street Theater Presents ‘Deceived,’ A Gripping Psychological Thriller

Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor presents “Deceived,” a gripping psychological thriller. Directed by Tony Award nominee Sheryl Kaller, “Deceived” is a chilling new adaptation of Patrick Hamilton’s “Gaslight,” reimagined by playwrights Johnna Wright and Patty Jamieson.

This new adaptation explores the tension and manipulation at the heart of a marriage unraveling, set against a backdrop of shifting realities and buried secrets. In an era where gaslighting and deception seem to be on the rise — from headlines to households — “Deceived” offers a chilling, timely exploration of how easily truth can be distorted and trust dismantled.

The cast features Mary Bacon (“Coal Country,” “Boardwalk Empire”), Briana Carlson-Goodman (“Les Misérables,” “Hair”), Olivia Cygan (“Doubt,” “Steppenwolf Theatre”), and Sam Gravitte (“Wicked”). Scenic design is by Jason Ardizzone-West, with costumes by Devario D. Simmons, lighting by Reza Behjat, and sound design and original music by Jane Shaw.

“Deceived” begins previews June 24 and runs through July 20. Visit baystreet.org.
