Marking its five-year anniversary in 2021, The Bridge returns to the grounds of the original Bridgehampton Race Circuit at The Bridge golf club on Saturday, September 18. The invite-only exhibition, presented by Richard Mille, will feature more than 250 incredibly rare cars sourced from collectors around the globe and arranged in automotive splendor across the rolling fairways overlooking the Peconic Bay.
One of the many highlights includes the North American debut of the Calder BMW Art Car (Artist’s Proof). Coming just weeks off of its first reveal at the Neue Nationalgalerie, Berlin, for the opening of “Alexander Calder; Minimal/Maximal,” the Artist’s Proof, conceived by BMW Group Classic for the Calder Foundation, realizes Calder’s dream of creating his own example of the first BMW Art Car, operating as the kinetic work of art that the artist intended.
The Bridge is a collaboration between Robert Rubin, who has owned the Bridgehampton Race Circuit since 1981 and founded The Bridge golf club in 2002, and the event’s organizers: Shamin Abas, President of Shamin Abas Ultra-Luxury Brand Marketing and Business Development; and Jeffrey Einhorn, a Manhattan-based attorney.
“We are happy to be back after taking a break in 2020,” said Rubin. “This year promises to be more exciting than ever before. Some of the cars expected to be showcased are truly spectacular works of art and exemplary models of horsepower. When my partners and I conceived of this event five years ago, we never imagined it would become one of the most anticipated automotive events of the year. It’s been wonderful watching it grow year over year and we are thankful to our sponsors – and all of the collectors – for making it all possible.”
Cars and Coffee is set to take place Sunday, September 19, at the Bridgehampton Museum from 9 AM until noon. The event, now in its fifth year, is hosted by the organizers of the The Bridge.
Cars and Coffee is a social gathering that is catered to vintage car owners and enthusiasts alike. More than 250 classic cars are expected, and admission is free. This exhibition will welcome families and will provide a fun environment for kids. Cars and Coffee will offer live music entertainment, as well as food and beverages from Smorgasburg.
