Cocktail Recipe: Sakura Martini

The Sakura Martini is created by bar maven, Kenta Goto, of namesake Bar Goto on the Lower East Side and sister concept Bar Goto Niban in Brooklyn.

Sakura (Cherry Blossom) is the national flower of Japan, where Kenta grew up. In place of the typical olive martini garnish, Kenta utilizes salted, preserved blossoms, which are available throughout the year — making it easier to recreate. The martini is delicate, clean, and smooth, with just a hint of floral salinity from the blossom, presented in the glass in a way that it almost looks as if the flower is blooming — creating a perfect spring drink.
