2nd Annual Hamptons Handbag Festival

The 2nd Annual Hamptons Handbag Festival will be held on Sunday, June 14 at the American Legion Hall (15 Montauk Highway, Amagansett/East Hampton).  Admission is free from 10 am until 5pm. Early bird shipping at 9:30 am at $10.

15 handbag vendors will be offering their designer, luxury, vintage and one-of-a-kind handbags. All price points and time periods will be represented.

At 11:00, Ilene Hochberg Wood will speak on “Arm Candy: A Passion for Fashion.” Ilene owns the world’s largest handbag collection, numbering over 9000. The collection forms the basis of a series of traveling museum exhibitions, PURSEonality, which is also the title of her just-released book.

At 1:00 pm, Ann Fristoe Stewart, director and curator of the Leiber Collection, will give a special presentation, “A Life in Art and Handbags: The World of Judith and Gerson Leiber.”

Ty Wenzel, a recent breast cancer survivor, started her career as a fashion coordinator for Bloomingdale’s followed by fashion editor for Cosmopolitan Magazine. She was also a writer for countless publications, including having published a memoir (St. Martin's Press) and written features for The New York Times. She is an award-winning writer and designer who covers lifestyle, real estate, architecture and interiors for James Lane Post. She previously worked as a writer and marketing director for The Independent. She has won multiple PCLI and NYPA awards for journalism, social media and design, including best website design and best magazine for James Lane Post, which she co-founded in 2020. Wenzel is also the founder of the Hamptons social media agency, TWM Luxury Solutions.
