Jackson Pollock & Jazz (Quintet)

Arts Center at Duck Creek

Ray Anderson - trombone/vocals, Tommy Campbell - drums, Steve Salerno - guitar, Sam Dillon - saxophone, Tom Manuel - cornet.

This is the first of two concerts focused on the record collection of Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner. Organized in collaboration with The Jazz Loft in Stony Brook, NY, this concert will feature original arrangements inspired by the work of Jackson Pollock by Ray Anderson and Tom Manuel.

Cornetist, Jazz historian, and music educator Tom Manuel holds the endowed Artist in Residence chair within the Jazz department at Stony Brook University. In addition to this he is the founder and President of The Jazz Loft in Stony Brook, New York, an innovative and creative space which joins Jazz performance, Jazz preservation and Jazz education in celebration of the past, present, and future (thejazzloft.org). He also serves as the President for The Institute For New Music (theinstitutefornewmusic.org).

As always, concert audience members are encouraged to bring a beach chair, and a picnic and enjoy the evening (or afternoon)! All events are free, but space and parking are limited, so please arrive early, and be considerate of our neighbors. Concerts are weather dependent and some programs may require a reservation.

The Arts Center at Duck Creek is a New York State-recognized 501(c)(3) entity, located at
Historic Duck Creek Farm in East Hampton, NY. Since 2018, we have been dedicated to the stewardship of this land as a place to inspire our community with free creative programming that supports artists, celebrates diversity, and honors the East End’s cultural legacy. Our operations are sustained solely through grant allocations and generous donations from the community. Our programming is always free & open to all.
