Revolutionary America Series: Both Sides Of The Pond
Join us for Both Sides of the Pond, an engaging musical journey through the evolution of American roots music from the Colonial era through the early 20th century. Drawing on traditions brought from the British Isles and shaped over generations by diverse cultural influences, this program explores how a distinctly American musical voice emerged.
Through live performances of historic songs and tunes from the 18th, 19th, and early 20th centuries, musicians Maria Fairchild and Adam Becherer will trace the development of folk and roots music while introducing audiences to the instruments and styles that carried these traditions across centuries. Blending lively performance with historical storytelling, Both Sides of the Pond offers a rich and entertaining look at the sounds that helped shape America’s musical heritage.
