Hamptons Jazz Fest presents Noah Preminger Quartet on Saturday, June 3, at 6 PM. The event is the official kick-off event for the second annual Hamptons Jazz Fest and will be held at Southampton Arts Center. Mix and mingle with musicians and the concert will begin at 7 PM.
The concerts are intended to expose as many people as possible to the world of jazz music with mostly free concerts, small and large, inside and outside, and accessible to all. This is the first concert in a series of over 30 shows this summer.
Cultural diversity and roots of jazz will be celebrated with performing artists from the US and around the World. Music styles will range from World, Latin, and Jazz. Many venues, restaurants, libraries, arts organizations, and galleries will participate in this music extravaganza. Hamptons Jazz Fest collaborates with other non-profit cultural organizations like OLA of Eastern Long Island, the Parrish Art Museum, The Church in Sag Harbor, East Hampton LTV, the Bridgehampton Childcare and Recreational Center, and others to engage the diverse population of the East End.
Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis is the headliner event, scheduled to take place July 2 at Southampton Arts Center.
Many of the concerts will be recorded for The Jam Session Radio Hour and broadcast at a later date on 88.3 WLIW-FM, Long Island’s NPR Station. Visit the website for a complete music calendar and links to participating venues, www.hamptonsjazzfest.org.
